"Chinatowun's Digital History"

Chiara
Salini Escobar

My exhibition describes the history of Chinatown in a digital context. The aspects covered in this exhibition of Chinatown’s history are the people who came, the discrimination, and the support from today’s community. With this I hope that the general pubic will walk away with a greater knowledge of Chinatown and it’s development in Vancouver.

After the war, those in Chinatown became well respected and an area of interest and important history. Today we see many groups and organizations helping preserve and restore the buildings of Chinatown.

Image 2:
Through Chinatown’s development the people who lived in this area experienced discrimination from the White community in Vancouver.
